Elemes <br />did not approve of the variance stating there was no hardship present <br />The Gressens were not present at the meeting. <br />Puleo made motion, Schumann seconded, to table the request until May 22, 2003. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Van Klei Variance for Accessory Building <br />The Board considered the request of Lonnie & Deb Van Klei, 12015 Janero <br />Avenue North, for a variance to permit an accessory building with an exterior <br />finish that is inconsistent with the principal structure as required by Hugo City <br />Code Section 1195-030.1, Subd.4. The home is finished with vinyl siding and <br />asphalt shingles and the accessory building would be constructed with a <br />galvanized steel material. <br />The applicant had indicated they would match the color of the siding to the color <br />of the home. Klei explained that he wanted to locate the building within the <br />pasture area and would like to construct the building of galvanized steel material <br />that would not be destroyed by their horses, which have been known to destroy <br />materials other than metal. <br />The Community Development Director pointed out that several properties in the <br />surrounding area have been granted similar variances and trees on the property <br />would screen it from the road and neighboring properties. <br />Puleo made motion, Schumann seconded, to recommend approval of the variance <br />for 12015 Janero Avenue North. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Bacchus Homes Variance for Home Setback and Garage Size <br />The Board considered the request of Bacchus Homes, 1201 Arcade Street, <br />Maplewood, for a variance to construct a 1,170 square foot garage where a <br />maximum of 1,000 square feet is permitted by ordinance and a variance for a <br />31.45 -foot side yard setback where ordinance requires a 40 -foot building. The <br />applicant is requesting the variances for new construction at 12789 Greystone <br />Avenue North (Hidden Hills Development) consisting of 3.49 acres. <br />The Community Development Director explained that the home will be <br />constructed to meet the front setback requirement of 40 feet and will abut the <br />drainage easement in the southeast rear corner. This drainage easement prevents <br />
